Tenant Guide

Welcome! We’re glad you’re here. Below are a few important notes to help you get settled and stay on track throughout your lease.

Trash & Recycling

The City of Binghamton manages garbage collection schedules and requires blue city bags for household trash.

  • Collection Schedule: See the City of Binghamton pickup calendar.
  • Blue City Bags: Refer to the City’s list of approved stores where bags can be purchased.

Tip: Please place trash out according to the City’s guidelines to avoid missed pickup.

Utilities: NYSEG Account Setup

If you haven’t already switched utilities into your name (unless your lease states otherwise), please contact NYSEG as soon as possible: NYSEG - 800-572-1111.

When calling:

  • Select Option 3
  • Then select Option 2
  • Ask to be connected to the Move-In / Move-Out Department

They will assist you with transferring utilities into your name.

Maintenance Requests

To help us respond quickly and keep everything organized, please submit non-emergency maintenance requests through the Resident Center Portal.

  • Non-Emergency Maintenance: Submit through the portal.
  • Emergency Maintenance: Please call us directly (do not submit an emergency through text or the portal).

Using the portal helps us track requests more accurately than text messages.

Winter

  • During winter months leave heat on at least 60 degrees to avoid pipes freezing/bursting.
